A Statistical Analysis of User-Specific Profiles
نویسنده
چکیده
This technical report examines common assumptions about computer users in profile-based optimization. We study execution profiles of interactive applications on Windows NT to understand how different users use the same program. The profiles were generated by the DIGITAL FX!32 emulator/binary translator system, which automatically runs the x86 version of Windows NT programs on NT/Alpha computers. Our statistical analysis indicates that people use the benchmark programs in different ways. This technical report is a supplement to the paper "Evaluating the Importance of User-Specific Profiling," to appear in "Proceedings of the 2nd USENIX Windows NT Symposium," USENIX Association, August 1998.

User Interface Design in Mobile Educational Applications
Introduction: User interfaces are a crucial factor in ensuring the success of mobile applications. Mobile Educational Applications not only provide flexibility in learning, but also allow learners to learn at any time and any place. The purpose of this article is to investigate the effective factors affecting the design of the user interface in mobile educational applications. Methods: Quantita...

Due to increasing in cyber-attacks, the need for web servers attack detection technique has drawn attentions today. Unfortunately, many available security solutions are inefficient in identifying web-based attacks. The main aim of this study is to detect abnormal web navigations based on web usage profiles. In this paper, comparing scrolling behavior of a normal user with an attacker, and simu...
متن کاملRelational fuzzy approach for mining user profiles
Capturing the characteristics and preferences of Web users into user profiles is a fundamental task to perform in order to implement forms of personalization on a Web site. In this paper, we present a relational fuzzy clustering approach to extract significant user profiles from session data derived from log files. In particular, a modified version of the CARD clustering algorithm is proposed i...
متن کاملAn Efficient Economic-Statistical Design of Simple Linear Profiles Using a Hybrid Approach of Data Envelopment Analysis, Taguchi Loss Function, and MOPSO
Statistically constrained economic design for profiles usually refers to the selection of some parameters such as the sample size, sampling interval, smoothing constant, and control limit for minimizing the total implementation cost while the designed profiles demonstrate a proper statistical performance. In this paper, the Lorenzen-Vance function is first used to model the implementation...
